Recital Time

This weekend is Kayla's tumbling recital. It's at the OCC Theatre at 6:00 on Saturday. We are so excited again this year. They have been practicing for a long time now so let's hope all goes well!

Congratulations!

Congratulations goes out to my brother Ken, He gave his girlfriend Carrie a diamond on Friday night! We are so happy for him! There are no plans as of yet.

A Great Help!

Saturday was a busy day for us. We were up by 6:30, windows taken out and screens put in and yard mowed by 9:00am. My shower taken and the kids at my moms by 10:15 and me back to Newton to work for prom by 11:00am. Five updos and one first communicant later, we're heading home. I decided to pull weeds (lots of them) and Kayla decided to help. She REALLY was a GREAT help. I was so proud of her. Kyle was not so much help but kept it interesting for us! We decided to keep the worms we found just incase we decide to go fishing. About 8:00 we headed up to the high school to see the red carpet event for prom! We missed a picture opportunity with our favorite girl, Ashley, but caught some with some of the other girls. We had a great day and we were really worn out!

Beautiful Spring Day....

....at Least at the end of the day! As I was getting ready to close the computer down, Kayla was standing at the front door looking out at the bright sunny sky and said "it's raining Mom". I said "Oh, are you sure" and she said "yea, look". I told her to run to the east windows and see if there was a rainbow. She shouted "Mom there is", so we grabbed the camera and this is what we got! Kayla said "Mom, put it on the computer so Josie (Lindemann, cousin) can see it!" I love spring days like this!

Last Minute Trip

I got a email from my cousin Jenny this past week informing of a monster truck show in Evansville on Friday and Saturday night.(THANKS Jen!) So Scott and I decided to take a much need trip away from home on Saturday evening. We arrived at the 4-H fair grounds around 7:00 PM. They had 3 monster trucks (one had some sort of crash on Friday night) and some trucks for the mud bogs. Overall, it was a very good show. The kids really enjoyed the show. They did an awesome job. We had a great time! They didn't even fall asleep until we got to Olney:( But they slept in late this morning while I went to do my niece Josie's hair for her 1st communion.

This was Bone Crusher, there are seats in the back of the truck. It made many trips around the track giving children and adult rides.

This truck is Quadzilla, it was Kayla's favorite!

Spring is here.....

Last week on the 7th was my husband’s birthday. He is now 33 years old. I didn’t forget his birthday, I just forgot to post it. For his birthday, I took him to eat Mexican for dinner. I gave him the option of going out to dinner with me or that evening with me and the kids. He choose dinner with me…..because he wanted to stay home that night and get some work done. Imagine that! My husband is the quiet type, unless you know him well. He is very witty; you really have to listen to him. He is also a jokester. The last few months he has surprised me the most with his amazing patience and his deep concern for those around him. He is a wonderful husband, son, brother and most importantly, father. He has stood by me and encouraged me, through all of my classes which in turn strengthened me and made me work that much harder. He enjoys the opportunities that he has had with his children. He takes them to the farm with him and teaches them his hard work ethic. No matter the pace, make sure it’s done right! I believe my husband is a damn good mechanic and can fix almost anything! So, spring is here, and I believe our time with him is about up. He will soon be working from 7 to until midnight. Making sure each and every farmer is happy. Then he will go home to work and plant the fields for his dad and himself. Soon it will all be planted (and hopefully NOT replanted) and we’ll working on the next step……Harvest!
So, to you Scott: I appreciate all that you do for us. You are a wonderful husband and father. We Love You!

Husband.....

Tonight in the kitchen this was the conversation.....
(Scott was giving me a hug before cleaning up the supper table)
Kyle: Dad, Don't hug my mommy
Scott: Why
Kyle: BECAUSE (Loud voice)
Me: Your dad can hug me because he is my husband
Kyle: No, he is my husband....
Scott: Laughing....no Kyle I'm mommies husband
Kyle: Laughing...no your my husband
This went on for several minutes.
It was so cute to hear him say it, I had to post it.

Also, Saturday night, Kyle wouldn't eat his supper so I got online and emailed the Easter Bunny to tell him to skip our house Easter morning because Kyle wouldn't eat his supper. This didn't seem to bother Kyle much but it did bother Kayla:) So about 5 minutes later, I told Kayla I was hoping the Easter bunny was going to bring them fishing poles but now he won't bring us anything! Kyle then decided he would eat. He said "mom, will you email the Easter bunny back and tell him to stop at our house?" I said "Sure" (I'm not sure what I would have done if he wouldn't have eaten his supper) Tonight, while I am typing this post Kyle says "Mom, are you emailing that bunny rabbit?" I said" No Kyle, the Easter bunny is sleeping" The things they think about!

A time for Family & good Friends

So today I took the afternoon off to spend some time with my cousins who are home for the Easter Holiday. My cousin Jenny and her two kids Gabe and Kendra along with Gabe and Kendra's Aunt Beth (also my cousin) and my cousin Peggy and her too kids Marie and Joey all came over for a visit. It took them a little bit to get warmed up, but when they did they had a good time. Before everyone left we sat them on the couch to get a picture (thinking we are crazy) They did great. I got 3 good pictures. It was a great afternoon and I really enjoyed the visit. Thanks you guys for coming over and visiting!

Well, I forgot to mention that yesterday, April Fools Day, was my sister-in-law, Amy's birthday. Amy is a wonderful S-I-L. There have been times when I call her and ask her if we can come live with her! She always says- Yes (crazy isn't she!). Sometimes you just need to get out of Newton and away from.......things. So Amy, I just wanted you to know.....That we think of you often and you are not forgotten....and I hope you had a great birthday. Scott and the kids had every intention to give you an EARLY phone call(like the old days), but they were running late that morning.

Also, my sister, Julie's Birthday is today. I called her earlier to wish a happy birthday, but I just wanted to announce it to the rest of the world! Julie, you are always there when I need to vent....... about my wonderful crazy life......... THANKS. Your a great daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. Hope you had a great day! Luv Ya.

Well, I stepped on the scale this morning and it told me I was the same as last week. It also told me to stop eating the oreo's and I may loose some more! LOL Maybe next week!
