Kayla's Pre-K Open House

Kayla finally got to meet her Pre-K teacher's tonight. Mrs. Sandschafer and Mrs. Spencer (aide). Kayla had a blast at her open house tonight. She can't wait to go to school and ride the bus next Tuesday. We know at least three other kids in her class: Josie Lindemann, Marlee Kocher (cousins) and Nickolas Zwilling. After the open house, Scott and I took her out to eat at The Freeze. Kayla gets to ride the big bus home about two days a week with Ashley, our regular teen babysitter. The kid's love Ashley. Kayla can't wait! A big shout out to Ashley for everything you do for us. THANKS!!! (I encluded a picture of Ashley and Kayla too. This picture is from her big sister's wedding this past weekend. Congrats to Sara and her new husband !)

Time for a haircut

My husband came home tonight and he decided that he needed a haircut. You would think he could find someone to cut his hair (He only has a wife, sister & mother-in-law as cosmetologists).... nope he did it himself with a little help! I told the kids..." You can only do this to your dad!"

Like Father, Like Son

Scott was working on the wheels of my van a week ago and Kyle thought that the tires on the pedal tractor needed fixed too. Dad even let him use real tools ! And, of course, the van and the tracter are up and running!

Summer Day's Go By...

I can't believe that the summer is winding down and school is about start. We really haven't done a whole lot this summer but I sure do have a lot of pictures on my camera !! The kids and I went to Evansville to see the Wilke's. The kids had a blast and I enjoyed catching up with Jen. The kids also had fun swimming in our pool (we got a bigger pool (10 X 30 in) by the end of July). Kayla also had swimming lessons with Mallory Bolander. We also enjoyed the Jasper County Fair. The pedal tractor pull (newton implement sponsors it, so Scott got to work at it), the big tractor pulls and of course the rides. Harold and Clara's 40th Wedding Anniversary party was in July also and was a great time. They really enjoyed it. And of course we went to Evansville Zoo and Chuck E. Cheese, which we continue to hear about daily. Oh, and I took a Summer Anatomy Class too. What a busy summer.
Can't wait for fall, and Newton Eagle Football!

Weekend In Evansville

This picture is the kids at Chuck E. Cheese.

Well, I finally finished my summer Human Anatomy & Physiology II Class (With An "A") So we decided to take that kids to Evansville this past weekend. We left Saturday morning around 7:30 and headed to the Mesker Park Zoo first. Of course, when we finally have a weekend to get away and my allergies start doing their thing. My nose was running like a faucet. So we made it through the zoo and decided that we all needed a nap, so we head to the Drury Inn. After our naps we had a free snacks and drinks in the lobby (main reason we chose the Drury Inn) and headed to Burdette Park Aquatic Center. By then it was 4:00 pm and a little chilly. Kayla had a blast on the water slides but Kyle thought it was a little too cold for him. (I guess so, he did have blue lips!) After swimming, we worked up an appetite and decided to take the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. Where we ran into Chris, Beth and Brock Probst. We found out that we were all at the zoo at the same time and were staying at the same hotel. Chuck E. Cheese was a first for all of us. The kids loved it, and I didn't think it was all that bad! We then headed back to the hotel. We got up around 7:30 am on Saturday and had an AWESOME Free breakfast in the hotel lobby! It was definitely time to go home.
