Pre-K goes to the Dairy Farm

This past Monday, I had the opportunity to charperone the Pre-K afternoon class to the Zumbahlen Dairy Farm. I grew up on the dairy farm but Kayla has only been in the milking parlor a few times. So this part was all new to her. Here are some pictures.

This is Matt and Lori Zumbahlen explaining the milkers to the kids!

This was my group to watch over!

Sydney, Emma, Kayla & Josie

They were a great group and listened very well!

Birthday Pictures

This past month was busy with lots of Birthday's. Kayla's, my moms and Brookes to start of with and now Kyle's. Since my mom's birthday kinda get's put aside we decided to have a girls day out on the 21st. So last Saturday we (mom, Julie, Brooke, Dawn, Josie, Kayla and I)went to Champaign shopping and stopped by Tuscola on the way home. We all had a good time. We went to Chedders to eat but they wouldn't sing to my mom, they said she was too old! I didn't think 60 was too old ;) We ended the evening with a phone call from Scott saying my dad's loader tractor was on fire! So we got home just in time to see the fire trucks leave!

On Friday evening we came home from work/Linda's and found 2 packages on the back porch!

Aunt Dawn and Uncle Steve (Godparents) sent Kyle "Mail" Inside his "mail" was 2 presents.
His Illini Hat and sunglasses! He wore the hat all night!

His Sand Digger also arrived just in time.

Notice his hat is on backwards!

Last night we had Kyle's party. Grandma and Grandpa Kocher, Grandpa Meinhart (Grandma was sick), Steve, Dawn, Nate, Josie & Ben were all in attendance. Kyle had a great time. Thanks everyone for all the gifts.

I made Kyle's cake. It's a weight watchers cake. Thanks to Grandma Clara for getting the cake toppers from the bakery in Walmart ;)

Cleaning Mater!

A good time was had by all!

Happy 3rd Birthday Kyle!

Today at 1:41 pm Kyle will turn 3! Kyle was an excellant baby but he's testing me now! All Boy! But I wouldn't have it any other way. I Love You Buddy!

Last night we decided to take Kyle out to eat for his birthday because if we took him out tonight we would have to eat fish. So we went to the Hideout in Ste. Marie last night. It was GREAT! The kids ate really well and Scott had the BBQ Ribs and said they were Awesome. As always the Smothered Chicken was Excellant! Today Kyle is taking some Little Debbie snacks (that look like race cars) to Linda's for his party! Kyle's Birthday Party is on Saturday night with Godparents and Grandparents. We ordered Kyle's Birthday present on sunday from Northern Tool. We should get it today! (Hopefully) We got him a Sand Digger! We went to Gavin and Maddox's house last night and He tested out their sand digger! He is going to be soooo excited! Hope everyone has a good weekend and enjoy's the snow ;) I'll try to post some pictures on Sunday. Until next time......

Birthday Pictures

We have had an extremely crazy week this week. Of course, when posting it on here it doesn’t seem so crazy. We have a lot of things going on in the house. The kids are itching to get outside so the weekend weather seemed to pacify them. Friday night we stayed home and had fish for super ;) A few weeks ago, we put in a bid on some windows that came out of the house next to St. Thomas Church. 4 windows for $40 apiece. Well, a nice man from the church called me on Thursday night to let me know that the windows are ours. So Saturday morning the kids and I went to the church to get our 4 windows (that we are going to put in the shed that we are going to build this coming July/August). After that, we made our way to my parent’s house. I had to run to Effingham and get new license plates for our “little Grey” truck that Scott purchased from a neighbor for only a case of beer! Mom watched to kids for me for a few hours so that I could do that. So we hung out at mom and dad’s for a while and had dinner. Then we came on home to watch the Illini get beat. :( I was sick, I couldn’t even watch it. Anyway, after the game we went out to help Scott and Dusty cut wood. Scott bought an old backhoe last fall and had to put in a new motor. He FINALLY got it running this week. (After a really long winter of work) He had a blast digging and knocking down an old dead tree. Sunday morning, Kayla and I went to church and then home for a late breakfast with Scott and Kyle. Then Kayla and I were off to a baby shower for Kim and Jay. Jay is my first cousin and they are having a little girl in May. Good Luck to Jay and Kim. After we got home we found Scott and Kyle and made a trip to Dairy Queen for some Ice Cream. Yummmmmm. Then it was home for super and bed. The kids had no naps over the weekend so they were extremely tired! It made a nice evening for Scott and me. I think we were in bed and sleeping by 9:00! So, now we start a new week. Hope it all goes well. By the way, Scott’s mom is having her Port removed on Tuesday, So please be thinking of her. I’m sure it will go well, but it never hurts to have some prayers headed her way! I’m posting a few pictures of Kayla’s B-day party. Until next time…

Nice Weekend

Our weekend was a pretty busy one. Friday night we went to my sister's house for a birthday party. The kids had a blast in the big house, they didn't want to go home. Kayla cried most of the way home until she feel asleep. She was crying "I don't want to go to my little house". We get that everytime we go to someone's "big" house. I tell her "Three more years Kayla, we'll have a big house" (Hopefully)
Saturday was a beautiful day. I opened the doors and let the wind blow in. The kids played outside, although they seemed to think that is instantly summer by taking their shoes off and running barefoot. Mom was mean and made them put them back on. Saturday night we went to church. The kids were pretty good (for our kids). Some may not think so ;) We went to the place "Where the boys speak spanish" to eat some "Chips with that so good cheese" ;) It seems to be a popular place after church. Fr. Al was even there again;)
Sunday we slept in and then had Kayla's Birthday party. The grandparents and Godparents all came over around one. Kayla really enjoyed having everyone over. She got money, clothes, sunglasses, headbands and candy. Scott and I enjoy the small parties. Kayla doesn't seem to mind not having a big party. We can't have everyone over, it's just too much.
So as you can tell, we had lots of "bad food choices" this weekend. I do want to thank my sister Julie for having weight watchers cake for us to eat on Friday night. It was really good. I don't think the chicken Chimichanga (9 points) was really bad. I'm not sure about the cheese that was on top of it, or the chips and salsa that I went over board on. On a good note, I didn't eat much throughout the day on Saturday. Sunday, was bad. I did go on a walk on Sunday evening. And I ran on my gazelle this morning. So now I have 3 days to make up for the weekend. I'm hoping I lose at least 1 pound. Praying actually ;)
Thanks to everyone that attended Kayla's party and for the great gifts! Also, thanks to all who dropped gifts off and sent wishes through the mail (a big hit!). It is all very thoughtful of you. Until next time...

You went swimming?

Our weekend was pretty good, Saturday we took off and went to Effingham to Draves Trim Tone & Tan and took the kids swimming. They both had a good time (after a little coaxing). Then we met Grandpa & Grandma Meinhart at Culver's to eat. My brother Ken and his girlfriend Carrie met us there too (for Ice Cream). We all had a good time. The kids were a little grouchy because they refused to take a nap that day, but all in all it was a good time. They both fell asleep on the way home. Sunday I got up and went to church then Scott went to Effingham to join the Knights of Columbus. It was a long day.......The Fighting Illini lost :(

This week has been uneventful. But it will get busy this weekend. Thursday, March 5th, My little girl will turn 5. Yes, 5 ! Oh, and my mom also has a Birthday on Thursday......She turns 60! 60 years old. Then on Friday, my niece Brooke has her Birthday, she will be 7! Last week my nephew Zach had his Birthday on the 25th, he is now 9! So we have 3 birthday parties this weekend. (Zach & Brookes are combined) We are celebrating Kayla's Birthday on Sunday. I will make sure I post some pictures. I am ready for the warm weather that is headed our way! Bring it on! Here are some pictures of Kayla the last five years. Until next time.........
